As we have previously noted, some school auditors are still experiencing difficulties in completing the 2022 audits. We are continuing to work with the auditors to ensure these are completed as soon as possible.
There should be no negative impacts on the School as a result of this delay, and breach notices will not be recorded in your financial statements or audit report.
If you have received your signed audited accounts from the auditor, please remember to submit these to the Ministry through the secure data portal. And ensure that the reports are published on the school's website. |

CREATIVES IN SCHOOLS: APPLICATIONS FOR 2024 PROJECTS |

The Ministry of Education is inviting schools to apply for the Creatives in Schools programme (2024 project intake), which is currently open until 21 August 2023.
The purpose of this programme aims to enhance the well-being of students while developing knowledge and skills in communication, collaboration, and creative practices. As a school, you will partner with a creative professional to provide an engaging learning experience for your students.
If your proposal is successful, your school could receive up to $17,000 in funding per project.

XERO PRICING INCREASE - 13 SEPTEMBER 2023 |
Xero has announced that they are introducing new pricing for all Xero subscribers, set to take effect on September 13, 2023. This adjustment in pricing will ensure the platform can continually develop the product so you can get the best experience and use for your school. -
Standard plans increase by $5 a month to $71+GST a month
However, as you know, we pass on our Xero Platinum Partner discount to all of our clients, so the new price of your Xero subscriptions, sourced through Accounting For Schools, from Wednesday, 13 September 2023, will be as follows: - Standard plans increase from $48 to $52+GST per month
The price of any optional add-ons you have as part of your subscription will not change.

REMINDER: RETIRING OLD REPORTS IN XERO

Just a reminder that the old version of Xero reports will be retired on July 31. To prevent any disruptions to your workflow, we recommend switching to the new version as soon as possible. Please note that you will also lose access to draft old version reports, so make sure you publish these or export the data to Excel.

Save time with Xero's new invoicing version! Now, when creating an invoice, you can effortlessly add new contacts or inventory items directly.
This updated invoicing version, known as "New Invoicing," offers a refreshed design, enhanced functionality, and many of the features you know and love from the classic version.
New invoicing allows you to add a new customer or inventory item from within an invoice. The customer or item is then saved to your contact list or inventory. So if you’re invoicing a client for the first time, there’s no need to set them up as a new customer in the usual way — it can be done on the fly to save you precious time. |

Last week, we said farewell to our Business Services Accountant, Isabella Louisson, as she embarked on her next chapter beyond Accounting For Schools.
During her time at AFS, Izzy has genuinely enjoyed looking after a number of schools, getting to know the support staff and developing a significant level of knowledge around the financial challenges that schools face. Additionally, Izzy made significant progress towards her Chartered Accountancy qualification, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to professional growth.
