Just a reminder that for all the schools that we prepare the budget templates for, a copy of that template can be found in Google Drive. Please let us know if there are any other staff / BOT members that require access to this Sheet (view only or editing access).

Details about the process can be found within our 2023 Budget Chalkboard special (link to the 2023 Budget Chalkboard) which provides further information and guidance about how to complete the budget templates. Please let us know if you have any questions about the process.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss the budget in more detail.  We will however be checking in over the next few weeks around the 2023 budget preparation.

2022 ANNUAL ACCOUNTS & AUDIT PROCESS

ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT STAFF PAY EQUITY: WHATS HAPPENING NOW?

Payment to Employees:

Administration support staff received their first payment at the new pay equity rates (including payment for the period from 20 August 2021 to 30 September 2022) on Tuesday 18 October. This includes payment to people who finished on or after 1 September 2022.

Former Employees:

Former employees who were covered by the claim can now request their pay equity payment by completing the form below. Details on completing the form, as well as common questions about the payment to former employees, are also available through the link. Schools will not be required to pay covered former employees, who finished employment on or prior to 31 August 2022.

Funding:

The Ministry of Education issued a funding letter to schools via the Secure Data Portal on September 19, 2022. This letter provided a breakdown of how the funding instalment has been calculated. Schools have now received their first settlement payment on October 1, 2022, as part of their operating grant payment.

THE XERO TIP OF THE MONTH: UPLOADING CREDIT CARD RECEIPTS

Want to save time, reduce manual data entry and avoid any lost receipts? Upload your credit card receipts directly into Xero!

Just snap a photo using Xero’s receipt scanner app, and details from the receipt are automatically scanned into Xero for you.

When you take a photo on your mobile device, the app scans the receipt details to populate the credit card transaction.

Budget 2022 significantly increased the funding for schools to modernise and replace their furniture and equipment. 

This will be allocated to schools through the existing funding programmes for furniture and equipment (F&E). The increase will apply from your next entitlement.
