CONNECTING CLIENTS TO MAKE THE MOST OF THEIR CENTS

Makes Cents Newsletter March 2025

Bit slack this year that this is our first newsletter for 2025.  Hopefully everyone had time out of their business over the last couple of months for themselves, and you are now back into full swing of running your businesses and your teams.  At Makes Cents we are full on as we head to the end of the financial year.

If you haven’t got your 2024 financial year information into us yet, there is still time to do so.  If you need help with getting it all together just give us a call and Bernice or Lyzette will be able to guide you through the info we need and where to get it.

We are trying to be more paperless so emailing information to us is fine.

Posting or Couriering to Us

If you put things in the mail to us please make sure you use our correct mail address as NZ Post will now not deliver mail with a street address on it to anyone that has a PO Box.  So, to mail us the correct address is P O Box 40 723 Upper Hutt 5140.

If sending by courier, then the address is Makes Cents Accounting at 133 Main Street Upper Hutt 5018.

Audit Shield

The information from Accountancy Insurance on Audit Shield will be coming out in the next few weeks.  We are getting a lot of requests for more information from Inland Revenue particularly for GST, PAYE & income tax returns.  Audit Shield helps cover the costs to you of any review, audit or requests for more information by Inland Revenue.

In the past on most occasions, we have reacted to many Inland Revenue requests in the background without informing and charging you for our time.  As the Inland Revenue activities escalate, we unfortunately will no longer be able to do so anymore.  With our Audit Shield Master Policy, you can mitigate the potential unplanned costs associated with IRD audit & review activity, as well as requests for further information.

Cashflow Tight? Then Make a Plan

Is your cashflow a bit tight now that the holiday season is over?  Do you have a business plan, budget and cashflow forecast so you can see when your business is flush with cash or when things are a bit tight because you must pay a supplier, but the cash doesn’t come in until 2 months or more later!  Budgets and cashflow forecasts can help you see when these times may occur and are usually what the banks all want when you must go to them for assistance.  If you want to know more and get some help to prepare them, then give us a call.
