Dear Members,
We are pleased to share the results of our recent member survey, which provided valuable insights into your experiences and expectations. Your feedback guides ATAINZ’s efforts to better support and advocate for New Zealand’s Tax Agents and Accountants. Here are the key themes from the survey and our plans to address them.
Member Composition and Satisfaction
The survey, answered by 182 members, revealed diverse experiences within ATAINZ. With members spanning from less than a year to over forty years of membership, 81% of you rated our performance positively, with an NPS score of 43 indicating good satisfaction but also room for growth.
Celebrating Our Strengths
Support and Networking: Many of you appreciate the strong support network ATAINZ provides, from not feeling alone to benefiting from shared resources and professional development. Recognition by the IRD further validates the value of your membership.
Professional Development: Professional growth and knowledge enhancement were frequently mentioned as major benefits. Access to regional meetings, conferences, and networking with like-minded professionals are key aspects that members value.
Member Recognition: Our efforts to be recognised by the IRD and other institutions have paid off, providing you with credibility and confidence in your professional endeavours.
Addressing Frustrations and Challenges
Brand Awareness: There is a need to increase ATAINZ’s brand awareness. Many members feel that the public and colleagues are not sufficiently aware of ATAINZ, impacting the perceived value of the membership.
Document Authorisation and CPD Requirements: Concerns were raised about the lack of authorisation for signing documents and the demands of CPD requirements. We are exploring ways to provide more flexibility and support, though we believe the CPD requirements in terms of time are appropriate.
Meeting Costs and Travel: The time and travel costs associated with meetings and conferences were highlighted as frustrations. We have implemented accessible formats, including virtual options, to reduce these burdens.
Enhancing Member Value
Tax Updates and Industry Insights: There is a strong desire for more frequent and detailed tax updates and industry insights. We plan to integrate more targeted workshops, panel discussions, and practical learning sessions into our events.
Technology and Meeting Formats: Improving the use of technology for meetings and providing better remote access options are priorities. We aim to make our regional meetings more interactive and beneficial, regardless of members' locations.
Support and Mentoring: Expanding our mentoring programs and providing more structured support for both new and established members will help enhance professional growth and member satisfaction.
