We have now prepared the 2024 Budget Template reports for our regular monthly schools. These reports are located in Google Drive.

As the 2024 provisional roll and resourcing entitlement notices have now been made available in Pourato, please ensure they are uploaded to the "2024 Accts / Budget" folder in Google Drive so that we can include this information within the budget template.

You should have now received our 2024 Budget Chalkboard special two weeks ago, which provides further information about how to complete the budget templates (link to the 2024 Budget Chalkboard). Please let us know if you have any questions about the process.

If you are not one of the schools we generally assist around the annual budget, but would like us to prepare a Budget Template report for your school, please contact Allison Henderson via admin@afsl.nz.

IMPORTANT NOTICES

2024 Roll Review:

If you have evidence that your 2024 provisional roll is likely to be higher than what the Ministry of Education has estimated, you can apply for a provisional roll review before 17 November 2023.

More information on how to request a provisional roll review can be found by clicking the button below.

Keeping Accurate Records: Employee Payroll Changes

The auditors have requested that Schools keep a record of all changes made to employees' personal information during the year. This includes changes to bank accounts, contact details, IRD tax codes etc.

This information used to be provided to Novopay on a form, but as this is no longer the case with EdPay, they require another record of this information for audit purposes.

If you use Payroll Toolkit, there is the facility to record these changes within the system. If you don't use Payroll Toolkit, then you could save a pdf copy of the email from the employee requesting the change and provide this to the auditors.

If you have any questions about this change, please contact our team on 04 909 7729.

ASB BATCH PAYMENT CHANGES

If you bank with ASB you may have received notice that on 16 November 2023 Xero will be removing the direct payment link from it's platform. This means that batch payments will not be sent straight to the bank when you click on the Export Batch File button. Instead, you will need to export the batch from Xero and then import it into ASB internet banking.

You can continue to use the direct payment link until 16 November 2023.

If you would like to discuss this further or have any questions, please contact our team on 04 909 7729.
