April update

Hi all, welcome to our April Chartwell update. Spring definitely feels as though it has arrived with some recent bright sunny days, and the clocks changing to British Summer time here in the UK providing us with lighter evenings.

We are also approaching the turn of a different sort of season as the 5th April will be the end of the tax year. There is a lot going on in the world of tax and accounting compliance with some planned changes happening soon. This includes preparing for Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax (please see our article below), and some important changes are also coming from Companies House, making verification of identity mandatory for individuals from autumn 2025.

Regarding MTD, our Chartered Accountant professional body (the Institute for Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) has produced a short YouTube video that we have linked here, which sums up some basic information about the changes that are soon to be mandated.

It is worth mentioning that throughout these changes we can provide support and advice as always for our clients. Please let us know how we can help you and if you have any specific queries please get in touch!
